The Pilates Center is staffed with the most experienced and highly trained instructors in the Williamsburg area. Even our out-of-town clients are amazed at the quality of our instructors and facility. Mary-Jane Bell AmreinFounder
Mary-Jane has been a Stott Certified Pilates Instructor since 1997. She also founded a local gym, Aerobics Plus, which she owned for 20 years before selling it and moving the pilates program to its current location. She was honored by the Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce as Small Business Person of the Year while she owned Aerobics Plus. Additional certifications include:

- Personal Trainer from Dr. Ken Cooper's Aerobic Institute of Research in Dallas Texas
- ACE Gold Certified Aerobic Instructor
- Medical Exercise Specialist
- B.S. and M.S. degrees from Virginia Tech
George has been a Stott Pilates trained instructor since 2005 in all equipment with additional training in Injury and Special Populations, Balanced Body University Integrated Tower Pilates, and Muscle Acitvation Techniques Jump Start program. Through pilates he has helped clients improve their golf game as well as reduce pain in the hip, knee and back. He has over 35 years of exercise experience in a traditional gym and would be a good instructor for those trying pilates for the first time. He has his B.S. degree from the University of Maryland. In 2013, George attended Pilates for Rehabilitation seminar conducted by the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates institute. The workshop focused on clinical programs for clients with various types of pain.
Elizabeth Michael FaxonInstructor
Stott Certified Pilates Instructor since 2005 on all equipment and in Injury and Special Populations. She also received her certificate in Muscle Activation Technique's Jump Start and Balanced Body University Integrated Tower Pilates. She has helped clients who have had a stroke, have Fibromyalgia, Parkinson's disease, Scoliosis, Multiple Sclorosis as well as those with joint issues. Elizabeth specializes in pre and post natal exercises.
Prior to becoming a STOTT trained instructor, Nick has been practicing pilates at The Pilates Center for over 13 years. He is a competitive racquetball player, cyclist, and avid skier. Using pilates exercises, he can help clients not only improve their overall health and fitness, but also within these specific sport activities. Nick has a B.F.A from Indiana University and a M.F.A from the University of Pennsylvania. NIck has experience with Multiple Sclerosis clients. In 2013, Nick attended Pilates for Rehabilitation seminar conducted by the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates institute. The workshop focused on clinical programs for clients with various types of pain.
Patty is a certified STOTT Instructor for Intensive Reformer and is certified by STOTT in Injury and Special Populations. She completed extensive training on the Pilates Cadillac /Trapeze, Stability Chair, Arc Barrel and Ladder Barrel. As a practitioner and trainer , Patty is continuously inspired by how Pilates re‐educates and heals the body. She enjoys working with people of all fitness levels, as well teaching Pilates for rehabilitation. She has extensive experience training clients with Multiple Sclerosis, Cerabal Palsy, Lymes Disease, Down Syndrome, pregnancy, joint replacements and pre and post op cancer surgery. Patty has a B.A. In Sociology with a concentration in Gerontology from the State University of New York at Cortland.
Maura has completed Stott Pilates Intensive Reformer Instructor Training. She has also completed extensive training on the Pilates Cadillac /Trapeze, the Stability Chair, the Arc Barrel and the Ladder Barrel. After practicing Pilates herself and recognizing the remarkable benefits, she decided to become an instructor. Maura has a B.A. in English and taught high school English for fifteen years. She and her husband have lived in Williamsburg for eighteen years and they have two children.
